My 28 week appointment went well. I had to have my 1-hour glucose tolerance test. Luckily, they let me drink the fluid at my house. I drank the glucose around 8:15 while I was in my car. It wasn't as bad as I had thought. Thanks, friends, for suggesting I use a straw. It took me almost 40 minutes to get to Marietta, and the blood has to be drawn within one hour, so I was a little nervous. They got be back with about 2 minutes to spare. I got the results and they were normal. No gestational diabetes for me :)
After my blood draw, Dr. Pitcher came in and I got to hear Cate's heartbeat. That is always my favorite part. There is always a second of panic until she finds the spot. This time, she put the doppler on my right side and didn't get anything. Then she put it on my far left, and I heard something but not "it". So she moved it a little more across my belly, still not hearing what we were supposed to. Then she started laughing, so I knew everything was OK. It seems she was having to "chase" Cate across my belly. As Dr. Pitcher would put the doppler down Cate would kick at it and move away from the spot. She did this twice until I guess she ran out of room to move. Dr. Pitcher said, "She sure likes to move" and that is an understatement. Every sonogram we have had she has been moving like crazy. I'm not sure what to expect when she arrives :)
From now on, I will go to the doctor every 2 weeks- my next appointment being 2/28. Between now and then, we are just working on getting the nursery together. Grana, BB, and Granddaddy came to help paint this past weekend and it looks great! We are going to buy furniture this weekend so that will be exciting. Pictures of the nursery to follow soon :)

4D Ultrasound
On Saturday, I went to get a 4D ultrasound. I had wanted to do this to see Cate, but also because our regular OB/GYN doesn't allow more than two people in an U/S session. I really wanted Cate's grandmothers to experience what Scott and I have. We had a wonderful time! It was me, BB, Grana, Aunt Lynnie, Great Aunt Chacha and Godmother Nicole. We had a nice lunch in Buckhead at Cheesecake Factory and then went across the street to Storkvision. We got to spend 30 minutes watching her move- hands up the whole time! It was a great experience and totally worth the money! What a great day! Here are some images below.
Front view of her face, shoulders, and chest. She is facing slightly down with her mouth a little open.
This is a profile shot while she is looking left. It looks like there is a hole in her head, but that is just another dimension of fluid. :)

Anger
After spending over an hour places pictures in my "baby timeline" post, I cannot get the formatting correct. Anyone who wants to give me suggestions I would appreciate them. I do NOT want the text to wrap and I have yet to find a way to avoid it. The pregnancy hormones are RAGING right now. I am not dumb on a computer. Why is it not working?!?! ARGH!!!
James
As most of you know, James was the ring bearer in our wedding. I can't believe since then he's
a) Gone from the beginning of elementary school to middle school and
b) grown almost as tall as me!
This past week I went to his first band concert at McClure Middle School. Their 6th grade band has over 200 kids! It was a fun night and I was shocked at how "together" everything was. What a fun time! I cannot believe he is almost 12!
